Watch classification
Strictly speaking, there is no unified classification, however, any types of watches can be divided into groups united by any criterion. We have selected the five most obvious for you:
- By accessories: men, women, children.
- By energy source: quartz, mechanical, hybrid.

AFFILIATION
All types of men's watches differ in large and brutal forms. They have more than all kinds of functions, and they are also one of those rare men's accessories that it is recommended to have with you while in a decent society.
Women's watches are usually smaller (although many women prefer a wide scale) and are more often used as a fashion jewelry than a time meter. This is especially true for jewelry types of women's watches.
Children's watches are light and not too big. The numbers in them are often large, so that the child can easily read the readings. Three hands and a date are the optimal set of functions, and for the most curious, a bright chronograph with buttons.
SOURCE OF ENERGY
The quartz watch is battery operated.
Mechanical watches are powered by the energy of a wound spring.
The hybrid watch runs on both power sources.

FUNCTIONAL
Simple watches
Of course, “simple” does not mean “boring”. In fact, simple (are classic) watches simplified in a functional sense. Here you will not find tourbillons and repeaters - maximum hour, minute and second hands, and no extra functions and complications. Such watches are distinguished by a strict, sometimes even minimalistic design.

Complications
By complication we mean some kind of “load” on the watch mechanism, which turns it from a basic to a complex one. There were simple watches with hands - which added an additional indication and now this is a watch with complications! The most common watch complications include:
Moreover, this is not only the date or day of the week - but also the lunar calendar, such an unusual complication as the “big date”, when two large windows with numbers appear on the dial instead of one small aperture.
It looks like a fuel gauge in a car. It tells how long the watch will function and how soon it will need to be replaced. It will be useful to owners of mechanical watches.
Previously, chronographs and stopwatches helped athletes record time intervals, and now these beauties help us look stylish too!
A special indicator (optional dial) shows guest time, and the main dial shows home time. Or vice versa - to whom it is convenient to set up during a long trip or business trip.

MATERIAL
Plastic watch
A great option for athletes, because such a watch is almost indestructible: most parts have additional protection. Furthermore, plastic exists in any color - therefore, plastic models are especially loved by children and everyone who is used to bright colors.
Steel clock
The most common watch case material in the world. Steel has good physical properties ensuring a long watch life.
Jewelry watches
Unlike all other types of watches, wrist watches made of precious metals are the most luxurious item. Their main distinguishing feature is a jewelry case (more often - from gold, less often - from silver), which can be additionally decorated with precious stones. Additional artistic processing of individual parts (skeletonization of the mechanism, enameling of the dial, etc.) is also welcome.
The materials listed above are basic, as they are more common, but in the watch world there are many interesting options. Titanium watches are super lightweight, ceramic watches are super-fashionable (and do not scratch!), There are even wooden and glass models! Thanks to tirelessly developing technologies, the emergence of new types of watches is only a matter of time.
